1 month down!

Wow! It is hard to imagine a month of school has already gone by!! They say time flies when you are having fun and that is nothing but the truth! I am living with three other girls; Kaela, Samantha, and Susan, as well as a friend's dog London for the school year. It has been a lot of fun and believe it or not all of us are getting along very well! Our apartment is finally looking like a home and not a bunch of stuff all over the place so that is nice! The equestrian team at UW started up again the first week of school and it looks like we have a great group of twenty-or-so riders. Our first show is October 1-3 at CU so we're counting down until then! Speaking of horses, I have Buttercup, a 5 year old Missouri Fox Trotter up at school with me. She is adjusting to life in Laramie pretty well and participated in her first team practice Monday. Hopefully by May when she goes back to WRR she will have a whole bunch of new tricks up her sleeve! Classes are going well so far, I'm taking human systems physiology, biological psychology, political sciences, and cultural anthropology this semester. I love the first two classes, the other two are push through to check off the requirements kind of classes. I have kept myself busy volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters- my little sister Alyisa is one big ball of energy! I've also helped out at a bake sale and ag day bbq- tasty, and the Windy Wyoming Horse Show- I'm pretty sure if I can find a horse and the money I will try to ride in the show next year! That's all for now, let me know how you're doing!

March-August... 5 months crammed into one post!

March-May: I finished up my freshman year at UW- so much fun! It snowed for finals week in May which I suppose I should have known was coming! I am going to be living in an apartment for the 2010-2011 school year with my friends Kaela, Samantha, and Susan and I cannot wait! Also, I will more than likely have a horse up at school this year!
June: I took my CNA class at LCCC and now I have to take the test and earn my C!
June-August: I spent the entire summer working at Winding River Resort again, man I love it up there! There were some pretty good adventures including taking Norman the cow to the vet in my car, -bull riding! hitch-hiking on a boat, -Grand Lake! pulling "titanic" in the river on Rusty, game night potlucks every Wednesday, -Pegs and Jokers with Linda, Sandi, Ang, Tom, Vonnie, Mark, Bonnie, and Jerry! riding every single horse at the resort again, -Tiff, Meg, Ang, Spike and Charlie! Buffalo BBQ Parade, -Dreamer does NOT like puddles! hiking to Lone Pine Lake, swimming at Granny's, riding Buttercup down the side of the highway and even more! I always enjoy the time I spend up here at the Resort and am so grateful to know the wonderful people up here! -Chasing in on Kennedy, Terri Cage Photography
August: I went back to Springfield, IL for my Grandma's 80th Birthday Party. -Car decorations Meg, Izzy, Ang, and Colleen! It was amazing!! I think there were over seventy family members present and we all had a blast! I am thankful to be part of such a wonderful legacy and love the Naumovichs!
-Izzy, Colleen, Emma, Jenna, Ang, and Meg at IBYC
And now it is time to head back to good ol' Laradise, don't forget to keep in touch!!

Spring is Here!

Wow so I haven’t written here in forever because I was trying to wait for pictures from Ian… but he’s been busy so I’ll write now and add pictures later! I got back up to UW January 11th for a full load of 18 credits. My classes this semester are anatomy, anatomy lab, nutrition, human lifespan and development, physical activity and health, horsemanship, public speaking, and theater. I love anatomy, but nutrition is not my forte. Public speaking, theater, and horsemanship are pretty much a waste of time, but eh, I have to take them to graduate, so why not get it over with?

I went to the Gambler’s Choice at the National Western Stock Show with my mom, Kristen, Jess, Katie, Sara, and Brianna January 15th. It was a lot of fun continuing the stock show traditions and Karen Cudmore won to make it great!

January 23-24 I was in Omaha, NE for a horse show. It was a great show with UW placing high point and I placed 6th in flat and 2nd over fences.

Beginning with super bowl weekend, a group of us from the team started a weekly dinner tradition at Jess’s house. It is really nice to have a break from the cafeteria food and just hang out with friends!

Valentine’s weekend was our CU horse show, it was the last regular season show. UW beat CU by 1 point to get high point team of the region which means we will get to send a team to zones in Texas in April! I’m super excited for that. I placed 4th in flat at CU and loved the horse I rode, Mia. Also, because we won regionals, The Branding Iron came to a practice to take our pictures and we were in the local newspaper! <-Jazzy and I at practice

February 20th the team helped the Collegiate Horseman’s Association run a nationally recognized barrel race that drew people from all over Wyoming and Colorado. In return, they helped us with our schooling show on the 28th where we raised more than $750 to go towards getting us to zones and nationals if we make it.

It has been a super busy semester so far, but I have loved it! I have begun looking at places to live next year and the search for roommates. It finally is warming up here- we have hit 40 degrees twice this week and are breaking out the t-shirts, shorts, and flip flops! I am looking forward to spring break from March 13-21 and hope to get up to the mountains for at least part of it :)

Back to School

Christmas break was a month of greatness. It included swing dancing at the Mercury Cafe with Katy and Randi and a second trip to the Mercury for Katie's birthday. I went back to Regis for the Alumni tea and two swim meets, which of course we won- woot woot! Kay Katie and I went on a mountain adventure and went sledding, snowmobiling, and riding up in Grand Lake which was a ton of fun. Tessa and I also made it up to Grand County for games and a sleigh ride. I went to Springfield, Illinois for Christmas and utter chaos with the Naumovich side of the family... With 52 people at Christmas Eve dinner, it was fantastic! I also completed my goal for break of doing "anything and everything fun, beginning and ending with horses." I watched Landi and Grigio for a week. I rode Sonja through the snow in the mountains. We went on a sleigh ride pulled by Charlie and Spike and a carriage ride downtown. I also rode Levi for two weeks... mission=success! Now that I am back in Laramie, I am looking forward to practicing with the team for the UNO show January 23-24! I hope everyone's breaks were fantastic! Have a great 2010!
