Long Time No Post... Oops!

Sorry for not posting in awhile!  I have been having way too much fun with a busy schedule- both at work and social life!

In April, Kevin and I went to Puerto Rico with friends Ben and Kelly and Kelly's parents.  We spent one night in Old San Juan and the rest of the trip on the island Culebra and stayed on Flamenco Beach.  It was a great trip with a lot of snorkeling, hiking, and good old relaxing!  Somehow I even made it through without getting a sunburn!

I was pretty excited to go on the trip!
Landing in San Juan!
The view from our hotel in Old San Juan
Kevin, Kelly, Ben and I at one of the forts
The view from Villa Flamenco Beach where we stayed
The snorkel tree
All of Culebra had beautiful beaches
We took a boat ride with the owner of the villa to Culebrita where the girls hiked to an old light house while the boys went fishing
Earning their keep... The boys caught dinner!
Checking out some of the old war equipment... Culebra was a target practice and had all kinds of cool old things!
The ferry ride from the main island to Culebra was a thrill in itself, there are some good sized waves!
I have made a few trips up to Grand Lake already this summer to see friends, snack on the exclusive fried zucchini and carmel apples, and of course no trip is complete without horses!

Kay and I by the lake!
The water is running rather fast at Adam's Falls
Kay took Moses out for a ride to Lookout
Zeuss is not so into the picture posing
When I'm not at work, I try to get out and have some fun, despite having two left feet, we had a blast dancing and kicking up dust at a number of country concerts this summer!

McCabe and I at Toby Keith's I Love This Bar and Grill for the Tyler Farr concert
The Girls at Country Jam- Jordan, Kaela, Jill, Brittany and me
Our camping group at Country Jam, with a few extra photo-bombers
Wedding season has hit in full force, with six friends getting married, Kevin and I are doing our best to make it out to celebrate!
Jon and Becky got married in Plymouth, MA
Good times with good friends!  Buddy, Maggie, Jon and Becky at one great wedding!
Yes, we saw Plymouth Rock, but it isn't as photogenic as the Mayflower!
Work has been great, I am mainly on post surgical still, but have had a number of "floats" to the Suites and post-partum.  I am blessed with fun coworkers and for the most part some awesome patients.
Krystal and I cashed in on free Cinnabon for nurses week
Krystal is my work twin... We were hired at the same time, are about the same height (or lack of), and are constantly being mixed up by coworkers and patients!  Our boss calls us the floor's minions as we are two of the three "newbies" and being the youngest on the floor we are pretty flexible for scheduling!

Our nursing students gave us a nerf gun to shoot the pulse oximetry alarm with... On slower nights we get some "target practice" in!
Rose and all of the HealthOne hospitals participated in the AHA Heart Walk downtown, it was a great success!
RMC Team
Nurses Night at the Rockies for some of 6c
And of course to keep me happy and sane, I ride Lucian a couple times a week!

Hope everyone's summer is going well!  Let me know if you're passing through Denver :)

Happy 2014!

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year's celebration!  Since my last post, I've kept busy with work, riding, weekly friend dinners, and just hanging out!  This year I celebrated Christmas in Colorado and in Boston. 2014 is off to a good start and hopefully will be a great year for everyone!
Kevin got me a season's pass to WP for Christmas!
We met Robert Ayers and Chris Clark from the Broncos while celebrating Booney's birthday!
Mavis and I spent Christmas Eve and Christmas morning at work.
Gingerbread barn... Harder than they look to keep them standing!
It didn't last long, Christmas night with Brittany and Kelvin
I spent the 26-1st in Vermont/ the North East... we found a water park!
Happy New Year from Plymouth, Mass!

Good Times as a Grown-up!

Big surprise, November somehow snuck up on me and I'm behind on updating this blog- per usual!

I'm officially one of those crazy night-shift nurses!  I have loved working at Rose so far, and despite the occasional lack of sleep to function like a normal person, nights are not too bad at all.  I have converted my bedroom into a dark sleeping cave and absolutely love my new mattress so things are working out.

In other news, we found an apartment!  Kaela and I are living within the city limits of Denver- so much for getting out of the city, but the 15 minute drive to work is nice and it only takes a bit for me to get to my horses for a break... I have been trail riding in Conifer with Jamie, riding Duke with Brittany, and working with Lucian with Rose so there is no lack of equine in my life!
Monty-man in Staunton State Park
Lucian doing what he does best... eating!

Duke on the bridle path- yay green grass!
As an alternate to four-legged transportation, I finally sold Ralphie the cr-v and purchased my first new car, Bentley the rav-4.  I have been cruising around town and love the new-car feel!
Ralphie's final photo shoot
Meet Bentley, the new addition!
Social life has been booming, despite the silly night schedule.  A group of 12 or so of my friends and I are doing rotating weekly dinners to keep in touch and just have fun playing games. So far they have all been really tasty and a ton of fun!  I went boating with Maria and Kay, to my cousin Katie's wedding in St. Louis, shopping with Brittany, and to the Notre Dame vs USAFA game with Maggie, Megan, Katie, and Reid.  All in all life after graduation is great, now go put on your pajama pants inside out and tuck a spoon under your pillow in hopes that there will soon be snow on the mountains for ski season!
Boating on Cherry Creek Reservoir (super close to my apt!)
It was one beautiful night, knee boarding was a little chilly after dark though!
Meg, Katie, Colleen, and I at the wedding!
Economical shopping, 2 people (4 legs)  in 1 pair of pants
Tailgate time!
Go Irish, Beat the Falcons!
Hope all is well with you and that you are enjoying equally wonderful fall weather!
